Case in point: I’m on various marketers lists. Some because I like the content they publish, some because I want to learn what NOT to do, and some because they give me DEALS!!!
A new traffic course was released recently and I thought I could learn a thing or two from it, so I decided to make the purchase. On launch day I get a half dozen messages for this new product. I was going to buy it anyway, so the obvious question was WHO do I buy it from?
Now, the majority of the emails I received that morning were similar pitches detailing the benefits of the new product, which I already knew. But two emails in particular stuck out to me…
The first was from one of my dear marketing buddies I met in the Warrior forum a couple years back. His subject line was catchy, his email was well formatted, great opening, peaked my curiosity and led me down the path to clicking his affiliate link…
…But in the back of my mind was another email I spotted in the crowd – and it warned me NOT to buy the new XYZ traffic product (until I read HIS email)…
This obviously intrigued me, so I rushed to open it. You wanna know what I found inside the email…
I’ll tell ya, it’s *the* secret to how many top affiliates generate the big paydays.
See, you think it’s just the size of their list or their reputation that matters most, and while both of these are important factors, there’s another piece to the puzzle noone’s telling you about…
When I made the purchase that day, I bought from the second marketer whom I barely even know simply because he BRIBED ME harder than anyone else.
Think about it… Who will you be buying your next car from? The auto dealer who’s negotiating from sticker price about the “car” itself, or the guy down the road who’s throwing in the upgraded warranty and free oil changes for life?
It’s the exact same car at the exact same price, so assuming the customer service habits and reputation of both dealers are equal, you know you’re going to buy from the person who provides the most VALUE for your hard earned dollar – that’s the guy who will win your vote.
Okay, but if it works so well in the offline world, why don’t more online marketers implement this same strategy?
A strategy so simple and powerful, yet hardly ever spoke of… Why is that? The super affiliates who are doing it don’t want you to know about it, that’s why. But sometimes you have to look past what they’re teaching and selling and look more at what they’re DOING – then do it better.
…and what all the top affiliate marketers are doing is simply offering “extra incentives” when you purchase through their link. No doubt you’ve seen these types of promotions, but how do you (yep, YOU!) create this same unfair advantage in your marketing campaigns?

Research shows that it takes, on average, 7 exposures to an offer before someone actually makes a purchase. Most folks receive the same, tired old “product announcement” email a dozen times in the exact same 24 hour period.
They get home from work and find a slew of affiliates all wanting to make the sale on the new product.
If 5 affiliates send out the standard email that their affiliate program manager gave them to send out as one of the “marketing materials” for the product, and 1 affiliate sent an email with a free high-quality offer attached for the same product…
..I’m guessing they’d go with the 1 affiliate who did things differently.

The idea of “incentive marketing” not only applies to NEW offers, but can even work to produce sales for older products too.
